Lock & Dam Eatery

Great local bar/restaurant in the heart of Hastings! Very close to other shops and the beautiful Hastings River walk! Full bar with signature cocktails and a great menu selection at a fair price. The service was top notch and I have not seen a faster turnaround time from ordering to delivery of food. If you want outside dining they also have a beautiful patio with seating and a great view of the Mighty Mississippi. We've been here twice now and it's a MUST visit! You'll be glad you did!

We had an amazing igloo dining experience. Our waitress Amanda was very attentive to us and gave good recommendations. We had the jumbo shrimp appetizer that was really good! Then we had the Marsala Chicken and Carne Asada Street Tacos. Both were amazing but I was huge fan of both the salsas that was served with the street tacos! After dinner we had their tiramisu which was perfect! My favorite drink of the night was the Almond Joy.

Well, we didn't know what to expect from the place, but we've been dying to try it for a while now. My Fiance and I walked in and were sat right away by a lady who appeared to be a server. Shortly after being sat Rachel stopped by and introduced herself and asked if we wanted drinks etc. We ordered drinks, and the firecracker Buffalo shrimp so we could look over the menu a bit more since we hadn't visited this restaurant before. The firecracker shrimp came up pretty fast and they were absolutely delicious. I knew from the service and the firecracker shrimp that we were in for a great night here. So my other half ordered the lobster sauce fettuccine, and I ordered the walleye. In between the time we waited for our food to come we were reading up on the history of this little honey pot. We saw they changed names a few times and decided to mix the Italian eatery with the Mexican dishes to make this place a success. We met a gentleman who has worked there for a while and he encouraged us to read the story on the menu and assured us we would love the food at Lock and Dam. Also, the wonderful Emma graced us with her presence, she seemed to know a lot about the restaurant. Emma we also very friendly, funny, and helpful. I cannot say enough about how wonderful these people were who served us, especially Emma and Rachel. The food was very delicious just as I had hoped it would be. My other half was very pleased and so was I. This place has won our hearts, the next time we visit we are going to try the igloo dining, with the food being that great and accompanied by great service we can't lose. Thank you Lock and Dam for making our first visit a very enjoyable one, we will return soon.

Such a great stop! I rarely give out perfect scores, but this joint DESERVES it. Those Italian Nachos? It's been 6 weeks since I've had them, and they still make me . I've never had anything like them. The beet was also solid and so was the fettuccine. Great, friendly service, too! And good cocktails (that I failed to take notes on.) Come here and be happy!

Totally delicious dinner. Had a fantastic time with our family for a get together meal. Everything was fresh and bright. Totally adored the Italian nachos, the walleye, the two specials - Greek pasta and chicken wraps. The chicken parmesan was spot on. Shared the tiramisu which was the best I've ever had in Minnesota. Definitely a diamond.

Stopped in for lunch with my MIL. She had the avocado salad and french fries. The fries are fabulous! I had Fettuccine Alfredo that was perfectly prepared. The blueberry lemonade was also delicious! The staff are friendly and efficient. I found the pricing quite reasonable.

All I have to say about our experience is wow! (Ok maybe not all because I'm writing a full review) This place was great though and I'm so glad we stopped in for my wife's birthday lunch. She had the Pollo Monterrey, she thought that it was very well seasoned and a great dish if you want something light for lunch but probably would not order again if we made it back. I had the chimichanga with steak and was very happy with my decision to do the creamy jalapeno sauce on that. The overall meal was wonderful and flavorful. I ate the whole thing knowing I shouldn't but I couldn't stop. They do a birthday dessert and without hesitation I knew my wife was going to pick the tiramisu and it is always a great choice and we love to see everyone's take on it. Lock & Dam had a new one for us, traditional lady fingers but with a pudding! It was delicious and we would have it again in a heartbeat! Our server, Bella, was wonderful! She was very attentive and friendly making it an even better experience. Also the view onto the river was amazing and not just because my wife was in that view!

Great trio chips and salsa app! Pasta was great too! Look forward to visiting again in the summer to enjoy the patio.
